Hunters from abroad that are attracted by strong bucks come to the hunting grounds of the ‘Hubertus’ Hunting Association no. 87 from Nowy by the Vistula every year. Mirosław Makuch has been their guide for 16 years. Thanks to his him, the foreigners have succeeded in shooting lots of medal specimen. At some point, Mirosław Makuch made a decision to hunt a strong buck on his own. He chose the fields near Pomórsk to be his hunting ground. A few years earlier in this very same district, a Danish hunter whom he assisted as a guide had shot a strong deer.
At around 7 in the morning, when he was coming back to his car along a dozen hectares large corn fields, he saw a strong buck that was pasturing in a small meadow approximately 90 metres from his location. Just a quick look through a lunette was enough to know that the deer was already suitable to be shot. The hunter rested his drilling on a shooting stick and took a shot. The buck fell in a spur of a moment. The antlers, weighing 702 grams, were priced by the committee of the District Management Board of the Polish Hunting Association (ZO PZŁ) in Bydgoszcz at 184.57 CIC points.
